Three big ideas in our new book on trust

In January our new book, ‘Choose Trust’ is published by The Economist. In it, Kevin Vaughan-Smith and I set out how to intentionally, consciously and deliberately choose to have an advantage over others by focusing on trust in business relationships.

The word ‘choose’ is the key one. Your clients have choice; your team has choice about whether to go the extra mile; suppliers have choice about whether to do their best for you; colleagues and fellow board members have choice about how to collaborate or compete.

And people choose to work with those they trust.

Make it stand out

The foundation of the book is the Trust Triangle, which sets out the three dimensions of trust. These define what trust is - and set out the areas where you can actively design high trust relationships with clients, colleagues and partners.

In the three videos below I explain each of the three dimensions - the three C’s: Clarity, Character and Capability.

They form the basis of keynotes, consultancy and trainings I can deliver for you to help you and your team build high trust relationships with those that matter.

Clarity: the foundation of trust

Character: the behaviours that build and grow trust

Capability: the outcomes created by trust
